Starting June 1, 2008, we will start charging our customers to list a property. We appreciate all your business to date and will work even harder to maintain Rent Spot as the #1 rental destination in Calgary! Since we have launched, in July 2005, we have listed over 6,000 units in the Calgary market and area and have seen property page views rise to over 1,000,000 per month! We have big plans to be Canada's #1 rental destination. In order to do so we need to charge for listings as we roll out nationally. As we do, we can expand our reach and brand with new advertising, features and functionality to landlords and renters.

What if I already have a listing?
Any existing listing prior to June 1, 2008 will not be charged for 2 months if they are still active. These listings will be considered grandfathered listings and will not be charged until August 1, 2008. We will honour those listings under our free trial period and you will not be charged. If your rental property is not rented after the 2 month period, you will be notified of payment. If you choose not to pay, your rental property will be turned off until we receive payment.

Why are you starting to charge payment?
The free trial period was always meant for a beta release. To that end, we have experienced great success in the Calgary market and it is time to repeat this in other markets. We want to continue to support our customers and provide the best features and functionality to renters and landlords who use our website. So, we have decided it is time to start payment and roll out the success Calgary has enjoyed in other markets across Canada.
